With my GH1, I get the same in...180 vs 360 shutter:<br />With my GH1, I get the same increase in brightness when I set the camera to +3EV, giving me apparently 3200 iso.<br />I tested your theory of a 180deg shutter turning into 360deg, but at least for the GH1 it is not what's happening.
